Best way to transfer data for windows computer.

Technology is getting better day by day, if we know how to use it properly. Still there are some of the things that there is no proper way to do. One of the most common issue that people facing these days is migration from old windows PC to new windows PC. 

Apple

MacBook(Apple) is very convenient for the user. when we upgrade the computer there is feature called Migration assistant. we have to follow few steps and it makes as it as same as our old computer(MacBook). There are some obstacles to use that feature like: if our old MacBook is not UpToDate then we cannot transfer. Sometime after update as well new PC doesn't recognize the old PC. But still Migration assistance works 90% of time. 

 Windows 

When we think about Windows computer. The facility is available it doesn't work at all the time. One drive makes it very simple and convenient. If someone is using very old computer like more than 5 to 6 years, their computer will be running on windows 10 or windows 8. That time One Drive was not developed properly. I am working as a technician so I know, what customers are facing these days. 

Without One Drive. there is no efficient way to transfer the data. 

Copy and Paste

There are some simple steps to copy the data. We can transfer only whatever we saved in our internal storage of computer. 

• Open file explorer
• locate THIS PC from your left side folder bar. 
• Select Local Disk C(Disk letter may be different on different PCs) 
• locate and open USER folder. 
• Select the folder with your name.(if you have multiple user setup on your computer, you can follow the same procedure for that) 
• Then, copy all the folders and files. 
• paste it in the external SSD,HDD or pen drive .

With this way you can make sure that whatever data we have on our old computer, it will be copied.  

Microsoft edge and google chrome bookmarks and favorites 

Make sure you sign in the same Gmail account and Microsoft account, as used on old computer. If Microsoft edge or google chrome signed in with different account. we cannot access to our old bookmarks and favorite bars. 

Applications 

Applications are not transferable. We have to install it manually by searching a setup file.
